Simon Linstead DipFA MIFS, Managing Director
Simon has worked within the financial services since 1999 starting his career at the former Norwich Union. After building a considerable knowledge bank he gained authorisation to provide independent advice in 2001. Two decades of developing successful business relationships lead Simon to addressing the need to offer a truly personal and bespoke client offering, by setting up his own financial advisory firm in 2009. His specialisms include company pension schemes and complex corporate advice, although he also enjoys assisting individuals reach their financial goals. As a teenager, Simon swam at national level and now actively supports his children's sporting pursuits. Simon is currently involved in a house renovation project which takes up much of his time when not working.
Maurice Pearce MLIBF AdvdipFA EFA, Associate Director
Mo started his career in financial services in 1987 working for Norwich Union, winding up final salary schemes. He has performed various roles over the years including specialist project work and training. His considerable experience has included working as broker representatives as well as an independent financial adviser. More recently, Mo looks after large investment portfolios and businesses with complex financial planning needs. He not only demonstrates his expertise to his clients and professional connections as he has also lectured for the Personal Finance Society. Outside normal office hours, you can find Mo combining business with pleasure as he enjoys attending various business functions and networking groups. Aside from this, he has a busy family life and enjoys reading, playing football, competition ten pin bowling and holidays.
Robin Sainty APFS M.A. (Cantab), Chartered Financial Planner
Robin read History at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge and has been in the financial services industry since 1984. As a Chartered Financial Planner he has many years of experience in advising on all aspects of the financial planning process. Having been a business owner himself for over 20 years he is particularly well qualified to advise on corporate planning, both during the lifecycle of a business and into the retirement of the principal. Outside work he is a keen golfer and the Chairman of the Norwich City Supporters Trust as well as writing a weekly column in the Eastern Daily Press about Norwich City.
Ian Howell DipFA MIFS, Independent Financial Planner
Ian Howell has been in the financial services industry since 1989 and has been providing independent financial advice since 1997. Ian is Level 4 Diploma Qualified and has a real passion for the investment side of the business. For 15 years, Ian presented the "Business News" section during the breakfast show on BBC Radio Norfolk. He has submitted editorial comment to the Financial Times, The Mail on Sunday and other publications regarding aspects of financial advice during his career as a financial adviser. Outside of work, Ian is a season ticket holder at Norwich City and he enjoys travel, good food and spending time with friends and family.
Rob Old DipPFS, Independent Financial Planner
Rob is one of our most experienced advisers having been in financial services industry under various guises for over 25 years. From advice to management, Rob prides himself on his personal service and care taken with every client and specialises in providing individual client advice. Outside of the world of financial advice, his hobbies include football, walking and reading a good book.
James Harrison DipPFS, Independent Financial Planner
James has been a practising financial adviser since 1998, becoming Independent in 2003, with a client portfolio incorporating both personal and corporate clients. Being Level 4 Diploma qualified, James is well placed to advise his clients in all aspects of financial advice. His straight forward manner is highly appreciated by his clients as is his ability to break down the complex side of financial services into understandable plain English. James prides himself on his personal service and is passionate about ensuring client advise is of the highest quality and truly independent. Away from the office, James has a love for motor cycles and travelling.
Andrew Clare DipPFS, Financial Advisor
Andrew has spent 15 years with Aviva working as a retirement specialist dealing with annuities and income drawdown. He then spent two and a half years with Smith & Pinching dealing with wealth management. Andrew is looking to build long term relationships with new clients and offer a high level of customer service.
Phil Mayo ACSI DipPFS, Financial Advisor
Phil Mayo is originally from London and has been in the financial services industry since 1996 having previously served in the Royal Navy for 19 years. He started his career in Financial services with Friends Provident and then Norwich Union. Phil has been employed in senior managerial roles, training and account management within the life assurance and banking industry. He is a qualified private client stockbroker and is Level 4 Diploma qualified to provide financial advice. His specialist area is Investment and pension planning, he also advises in the corporate planning market to new and established companies. Phil is married with a young family and is a season ticket holder at Norwich City which he attends regularly with his son. He lives in Brundall and is a keen walker. Phil also enjoys travel, including cruising on holiday with the family, good food and spending time with friends and family.
Daniel Garrard, Business Development Manager
Daniel started in the financial industry as a European Money Broker at 18 trading European currencies before the advent of the euro. He qualified as a private client stockbroker in 1999 for the Stock broking arm of the Norwich and Peterborough before working in Fund management for various houses including DWS (Part of Deutsche Bank Group) and Insight Investment (Part of the HBOS Group) as a Regional Sales Director. After a change of direction in 2010 running a gardening contracting business in France, he returned to financial services in June 2017. He joined Nurture because he felt they offer truly Independent holistic financial planning for all. Daniel enjoys visiting his house in France where he enjoys gardening, fishing and spending time with his wife Natasha and children Alice and Henry.
Laura Linstead, Office Manager
As a Level 4 Diploma qualified individual, Laura is well placed to oversee the running of our busy Norwich city centre office. Laura is responsible for ensuring all of the research and reports produced by the Company are accurate, clear and concise in addition to performing a number of other roles including compliance support. Her past experience includes working at large insurance providers and local financial advisory firms.
Pauline Pearce, Administration Manager
Pauline is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Company's back office systems including the production of client portfolios. She is hugely experienced having worked in the industry for some years in various demanding roles. Her grandchildren are very special to Pauline and she spends as much time as she can with them when not working.
Helen Durrant, Paraplanner
After growing up in the Norwich area, she spent 9 years in the RAF as an electronics technician on Harriers, Jaguars and Phantoms, being stationed in UK and Germany. She then moved on to Royal Mail, after working for BT for 14 years, running Ipswich Mail Centre with over 200 postal staff. Helen then decided to gain her stockbroking and financial planning qualifications and then spent another 10 years as a financial adviser. Feeling that her calling was in the research and planning environment, she moved into paraplanning where she fits into the Nurture framework supporting our advisers and admin staff.
Jack Guyton, Administrator
After completing his A levels in Law, Economics and Physical Education Jack started his career at Norwich and Peterborough as a customer advisor/consultant before joining Nurture. He is currently in the process of completing a level 4 diploma in financial services with a goal to advise in the future. Away from work Jack enjoys playing football. He has previously represented Norfolk at U18's level as well as playing semi-professionally for Wroxham FC and AFC Sudbury. He currently plays for Mulbarton FC.
Mo Rasul, Administrator
Mo Rasul graduated from the University of Nottingham, where he studied Accounting and Finance for Contemporary China. During his time at university, Mo has gained extensive knowledge of financial markets and developed key skills suitable for his role here at Nurture. He has previously worked and studied abroad developing key insights into different financial climates. He is developing his skills here at Nurture.
